Babies & Children's Portraits
Capturing childhood has always been Debbie’s favorite portraits since the beginning of the studio. One look at our gallery will surely convince you. We capture the beginning of life starting with intimate pregnancy portraits and can continue until your child is a high school graduate and beyond. We are famous for our “Baby in a Basket” series, started 20 years ago, and have grown and evolved over the years.
The original studio was built on the portrait plan concept (Aunt Mary’s and Family Records Plan); building relationships that lasted years with our customers we still see today. We are introducing a new spin on the portrait plan concept…”Here Comes the Sun.” This is a 15 month plan that gives you up to 6 unique portrait opportunities, with the option for renewal. We have several portrait options for your little ones-Allow us to assist you in deciding which portrait line is most suited for your child’s personality and your home’s décor.
PROOFING NOTE: We, at Debbie Daanen Photography, in an attempt to “go green” and to save, you, the customer, some “green” have converted to digital proofing. You will be given the choice to make an appointment with us, and place your order from our television in our ‘viewing lounge’ OR for an $80 fee (in addition to your session fee), you may have proofs printed. Proofs will be presented to you in a personalized proof book-yours to keep along with all your proofs. Proofs will only be printed for those purchasing their proof book. Session fees reflect digital proofing-add $80 if ordering printed proofs.Traditional Session
Our traditional style, color portraits are the beautiful images that Debbie Daanen Photography has been know for. A Classic portrait with an old world feel.
Relationship Session
This is a simple, black & white or sepia study of a child or a group of children. Contemporary, classic and clean.
Sorbet Session
This a new line we are very excited about… bright colors, crazy patterns, and simple backgrounds. Let your imagination go. This is a color session where anything goes. Ask us about our new line of funky frames to match!
"Once Upon a Time" Storybook Session
Throughout the year we host several ‘themed’ portrait events. Contact the studio or periodically check out Blog for updates of event themes and details. We see pirates, tea parties, and sailboats-the possibilities are endless. Use your imagination and get ready for all you fairytale dreams to come true. Session fees depend on event and location.
Baby in a Basket Session
This session includes the sitting fee, an 8X10 print, and 8-Wallets (2 months to 5 months) $45
Baby Parts Session
This 8-pose session focuses on those little hands & feet etc. (Newborn to 3 months) $25
The Other Children
We photograph several animals here at the studio, and encourage you to include them in your portraits-after all; they are part of the family. We are very involved with the Fox Valley Humane Association and we strongly believe that your pets deserve a nice photograph just as much as your children or perhaps your pet is your ‘child.’ Allow us to give you that shot of your pet, whatever it may be, that you will cherish for years to come.

Photography FYI…
- We recommend you stop by the studio for a portrait consultation and to view the different selection of sessions to choose from.
- Clothing is a huge factor in children’s photography. We always want the child’s face to be the center of attention-with this in mind, plain clothes with no heavy patterns is the rule. The rules can be broken for our Sorbet session. Simply ask yourself if there is a spot in your home where you can hang that type of portrait.
- We have purchased a large line of clothing and hats for any type of portrait, you are always welcome to use. Ask us at your consultation for availability in your child’s size.
- We photograph children 5 years and under in the morning. Believe us this works the best. Some Saturday mornings throughout the year are set aside for your convenience. Please ask if you need a weekend session.
